Marina Village
Marina Village occupies the northern edge of the main island, east of Webster Street and just past the Posey and Webster tubes. Development here has been steadier and more recent than in Alameda’s Victorian-era neighborhoods, running from low-rise apartments and townhomes built in the 1960s and ’70s through newer residential projects along Marina Village Parkway and Atlantic Avenue, which form the neighborhood’s main backbone.
The identity is marina-first: boat slips, waterfront paths, and open Bay views define daily life more than any commercial strip, though Webster Street’s shops and the Alameda-Oakland ferry are both close by. A shopping center and business park round out the neighborhood alongside the residential blocks.
It suits buyers who want a newer condo or townhome with water access and a shorter commute profile than the more residential eastern half of the island.
